Fire at Aqaba Oil Refinery Successfully Contained by Firefighters

Last Thursday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported that firefighters from the Aqaba Civil Defense Directorate successfully extinguished a fire that ignited in four oil tanker lines at an oil refinery in Aqaba.

The firefighting teams managed to bring the blaze under control, effectively preventing it from spreading to the nearby oil tankers.

According to the PSD spokesperson, the prompt action of the civil defense teams, despite the fire occurring on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, was crucial in containing the situation and stopping the fire from spreading further.

Fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the incident, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, the spokesperson added.

Lieutenant Colonel Imran Malkawi, Director of Aqaba Civil Defense, informed Roya that with the collaboration and assistance of various civil defense centers within the governorate, the fire in the industrial area was successfully contained.

Malkawi emphasized that the civil defense forces are always prepared to respond to any emergency, whether it be a fire or another type of incident.
