Two Dead, Four Injured in Raigad Chemical Plant Explosion

Chaos erupted at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Raigad district after a major explosion on Thursday 11th, which resulted in the deaths of two workers and left four others injured. The incident occurred at Sadhana Nitro Chem Limited, located in the Dhatav MIDC area of Roha town, approximately 110 kilometers from Mumbai.

According to authorities, the blast happened around 11:15 AM in a storage tank at the plant. Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge confirmed that the two workers who were operating near the storage tank lost their lives, while four other employees nearby sustained burn injuries.

Emergency services, including fire brigade personnel and local police, quickly responded to the scene, initiating a search and rescue operation. The injured were transported to a government hospital in Roha, where they are currently receiving medical care.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, efforts to manage the situation at the factory are ongoing, Gharge added.
