32 Suffer Injuries in Klang Chemical Plant Explosion
Authorities have reported that 32 individuals sustained injuries following an explosion at a chemical recycling facility located in Taman Perindustrian Kapar Indah, Klang, yesterday afternoon.
According to ACP S. Vijaya Rao, Chief of the Klang Utara District Police, those injured were aged between 20 and 40 and were present near the blast site at the time of the incident. Fortunately, there were no severe injuries, and they have since been discharged.
Police officers, fire and rescue department personnel, and representatives from the Klang Health Office are now conducting further inspections.
Previously, Nor Aziah Jaafar, Director of the Selangor Department of Environment (JAS), stated that potential negligence and breaches of licensing conditions would be investigated as possible causes of the explosion.
Preliminary findings pointed to chemicals stored on the premises as the likely source of the explosion.
