Blaze Reported at Salamanca’s Ing. Antonio M. Amor Refinery

A fire erupted Tuesday night at the Ing. Antonio M. Amor refinery, located in Salamanca, Guanajuato. The flames were visible from several kilometers away, accompanied by noticeable smoke and a strong odor of hydrocarbons in the surrounding area.

Local reports indicate that the fire is believed to have started in the Oil Separation zone near Gate 5.

Emergency response teams, including Civil Protection units and refinery contingency staff, promptly intervened to bring the situation under control.

In response to the incident, the municipal government advised residents to minimize outdoor activities, keep windows and doors closed, and seek medical attention if they experienced any discomfort, as thick clouds of smoke spread through the area.

As of now, Pemex officials have not released details about the fire’s cause.
