Chemical Explosion at Durban Factory Claims One Life, Injures Three

On November 18, a chemical explosion at a factory in Durban, South Africa, resulted in one fatality and injuries to three others. Emergency services were called to the Jacobs area around 12:45 p.m. local time following reports of an explosion. Paramedics arriving on the scene described the situation as “chaotic.”

One individual succumbed to cardiac arrest despite medical efforts and was pronounced dead at the site. The other three injured were stabilized and transported to local hospitals for further specialized treatment. According to officials, two of the injured are in critical condition, while the third sustained moderate injuries and is recovering.

The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and a police investigation is currently underway with local authorities present at the scene.
