Engine Fire Forces Emergency Landing of Passenger Plane Mid-Flight from Indonesia
An aircraft belonging to Indonesia’s national airline had to perform an emergency landing after an engine caught fire shortly after departure.
The Garuda Indonesia flight, which was en route from Makassar in Indonesia to Madinah in Saudi Arabia last Wednesday, encountered the issue with 468 passengers onboard.
According to Garuda Indonesia, the Boeing 747-400 promptly returned to the departure airport after flames were detected in one of its engines.
All 450 passengers, including those on a Hajj pilgrimage, along with 18 crew members, were safely evacuated without any injuries reported.
