Conference Host Locations

Port of Antwerp-Bruges
Port of Antwerp-Bruges is the second largest port in Europe, offering over 300 liner services to more than 800 destinations worldwide. Handling around 290 million tonnes of international maritime cargo annually, it is also home to Europe’s largest integrated chemical cluster, requiring extensive safety and emergency response measures. As a port dedicated to the safety of both people and the environment, the Harbour Master’s office collaborates closely with emergency services and authorities to manage industrial risks and ensure rapid response capabilities for both fire and environmental incidents.

Chair of Crisis Governance at the University of Antwerp
The Chair of Crisis Governance at the University of Antwerp seeks to deepen our understanding of how organizations can merge adaptable and resilient governance strategies to successfully navigate crises. By combining academic insights with practical expertise from both public and private sectors, the Chair conducts research that equips organizations and leaders to effectively address a wide range of crisis situations.
About the Boat Tour of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges

In addition to the Conference at the University of Antwerp, On the Afternoon of the first day The Fire Service Network Seaport-Scheldt (Brandweernetwerk Zeehaven-Schelde / BZS) invites you to an exclusive boat tour of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Join us as we navigate the docks along the right bank of the River Scheldt, offering a unique view of the chemical cluster and the emergency response capabilities of our network’s member companies. Throughout the tour, you’ll see demonstrations of the various firefighting assets, learn our network structure and operational procedures, all while enjoying a reception onboard.
