Factory Explosion Injures 7 in Bawana, Delhi
In a recent incident in Delhi’s Bawana area, a chemical factory experienced a blast and subsequent fire, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, as reported by authorities.
According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief Atul Garg, a distress call reporting a fire at a factory in Sector 1 of the Bawana industrial area was received at 3:04 pm. Responding to the emergency, twenty fire-tenders were dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
Nine individuals were successfully rescued from the factory and promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Of these, three are currently listed in critical condition, as confirmed by hospital reports.
Identified as Kuldeep (18), Bablu (25), and Mastram (20), the critically injured have been referred to Safdarjung Hospital for further medical attention. The remaining injured individuals, namely Suresh, Rakesh, Pankaj Pal, and Ghan Shyam, are receiving treatment at the hospital.
The factory owner, Sunil Kumar, indicated that no other individuals were trapped inside during the incident. However, this can only be confirmed conclusively following completion of the rescue operation and subsequent cooling procedures.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from a machine where workers were stationed, potentially ignited by a spark resulting from a short circuit amidst the chemicals stored nearby.
Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the factory owner in connection with the incident.
