Fire Erupts at Oil Refinery in Central Java, Indonesia – No Injuries Reported
A fire broke out at an oil storage tank within a refinery in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, on Thursday. Authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
Footage from the scene captured dense black smoke billowing from the affected tank at the refinery, which is managed by PT Pertamina, Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company.
Ade Bhakti Ariawan, secretary of the provincial fire department, stated that the fire was not as serious as previous incidents at the facility.
“The flames have been fully extinguished, and the cooling process is now underway, which could take several hours,” Ariawan told Xinhua in a phone interview.
He further emphasized that there were no casualties linked to the incident.
