Incident at Phillips 66 Refinery Results in Two Injuries
Phillips 66 released a statement affirming that operations at the refinery remain uninterrupted despite the recent incident. Two employees sustained injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, both individuals are anticipated to recover fully.
The company has committed to launching an immediate investigation into the incident to ascertain its underlying causes and circumstances.
Situated in Borger, Texas, within the Texas Panhandle, the Borger Refinery stands approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Its facilities encompass various units including crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization, and delayed coking. The refinery’s output comprises a significant portion of transportation fuels alongside fuel-grade petroleum coke, NGL, and solvents. These refined petroleum products are distributed to customers across West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and the Midcontinent region via both company-owned and common carrier pipelines.
