Oil Rig in North Sea Evacuated Following Supply Vessel Collision

A North Sea oil rig was evacuated after a supply vessel collided with the installation.

Harbour Energy reported that 52 “non-essential personnel” were removed from the Valaris 120 rig. Before the incident, the jackup rig, located approximately 150 miles east of Aberdeen, housed 128 workers.

The collision occurred at around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday. Fortunately, all personnel were confirmed to be “safe and well.” The Valaris 120 is currently engaged in joint operations with the Judy platform, which focuses on gas production and processing.
