Venezuela Gas Explosion Cuts Fuel Supply by 60%, Claims 8 Lives
A major explosion at a vital gas production site operated by state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) has led to the suspension of more than 60% of Venezuela’s fuel supply.
The incident claimed the lives of at least eight individuals, while several others were hospitalized with injuries. The exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
The event occurred at the Muscar Gas Operations Complex, located near Punta de Mata in Monagas State, and was first reported on Monday.
This explosion follows another recent incident from last month, when a significant fire at a crude storage facility in the Western region of the country resulted in over 20 people sustaining minor burns.
